She better hope I don’t see my shadow
Published February 2nd, 2006 in A day in the lifeEvery February, I get a little worried about a certain holiday, wondering how to spend it with my own special someone.
That’s right; today is Groundhog Day. It’s a tough holiday for me and the girlfriend, because she hates the movie, and more specifically, Bill Murray. Which means every February 2nd I have to ask myself: I should break up with her over this…right?
c’mon. all the ladies out there, support me on this issue. most females i know HATE the movie groundhog day. and, mr. administrator, i LIKED bill murray in lost in translation.
Yeah, but today isn’t “Lost in Translation Day”, is it?
z made a sweeping comment that “she” HATES bill murray. Correction: “she” only hates bill murray in groundhog day.
also, you’re supposed to put commas within closing quotation marks.
My girlfriend likes Groundhog Day.
Wanna trade? “I’m talkin’ ’bout… WIFE SWAPPIN’”
And Wonder Woman, unbunch your American Flag-themed panties, because I stand by my statement unless you can say you like Bill Murray in any two of the following:
Ghostbusters 1&2
Scrooged
Caddyshack
Stripes
I gotta back (Editor: I think you meant to type “Wonder Woman” here) up on this. While I love Bill Murray, I HATE groundhog day
Groundhog Day is, quite possibly, the greatest movie ever made. It perfectly captures the feeling that guys have of being desperately trapped — so trapped, in fact, that the tragic becomes funny. The foundation of these problems (as we all know) are you stinking girls — you know who you are.
In a couple hours I got to go pick up my kid. He will scream and scream when we are in the car. It will sound just like it did yesterday and the day before. Then, later tonight, I will create a stunningly beautiful snow sculpture.
Groundhog Day is only the best movie ever!
man, big brother, marriage + kid sounds awesome. i can’t wait.
blog administrator, my American flag-themed panties are a thong; therefore, no unbunching required. still, i’ll let your statement slide because i can honestly say that i only really liked Bill Murray in Ghostbusters 1. Caddyshack is decent, though.
Though I enjoy watching Ghostbusters2, I will admit that it is not a great. It doesn’t hold a candle to the first. Scrooged is however a classic, showing the development of heartless Bill Murray as he blossoms into an overly friendly man. That’s what makes it so good. The way he overdoes the role. He is “too” whatever his character’s dominant trait is. That is often a positive. I don’t have any examples, but his take has resulted in a terrible miss. Oh yeah… I HATED “What about Bob”, and “The Agent Who Knew Too Little” was not really a high point… I realize that my opinion on those will not be shared by all, but any statement against Groundhog Day is obviously false.
How can anyone not like “Groundhog Day?” Being able to eat anything you want in enormous quantities without consequences? The line forms behind me, or rather behind my behind.
